Cormorants, Gulls, Pelicans, Albatross, Shearwaters, and Sea Ducks are some of the sea birds that you may see near Monterey Bay.

PREY

Sea birds feed on fish, squid, and similar oceanic food. Some will follow fishing boats to take scraps. Some species also commonly follow whales to feed on fish disturbed by them. Other species dive to catch their prey.

THREATS

Human habitation and use of coastal areas removes seabird breeding, foraging and resting habitats on islands and shorelines.
