An incredible day of whale watching on Monterey Bay! We encountered 200+ long-beaked common dolphins, followed by the CA51A orcas Andi and Astrid with Jimmy near the Moss Landing harbor entrance. Numerous humpback whales were actively feeding throughout the area, including a group of 12 accompanied by a huge raft of sea lions that stampeded…

An incredible day of whale watching on Monterey Bay with numerous humpback whales, including a group of six males displaying exciting social behavior. We also encountered the CA51A killer whales with Jimmy, featuring breaches, tail lobs, close passes, and hunting activity. Hundreds of common dolphins rounded out the day with energetic bow riding and breaching.

Another incredible day of whale watching on Monterey Bay! On our way toward Moss Landing, we encountered 80+ common dolphins before finding a feeding group of at least 12 humpback whales surrounded by sea lions. The humpbacks also treated us to exciting pectoral fin slaps and tail throws!

Another fantastic Monterey Bay whale watching trip with 8 humpback whales and 50+ common dolphins! One humpback treated us to an exciting tail throw, while Caspian terns, shearwaters, and common murres filled the skies around Monterey Bay.  

An incredible morning of whale watching in Monterey Bay! Numerous humpback whales were scattered throughout the area, with exciting breaches, lunge feeding, and two curious humpbacks mugging the boat for nearly 30 minutes. Sea lion rafts and abundant seabirds, including plunge-diving pelicans and several species of shearwaters, rounded out an unforgettable trip.

We were fortunate to encounter large groups of Humpback Whales feeding and also had great looks at common dolphins. It was a spectacular day to be out on Monterey Bay

A fantastic afternoon on the bay! We spent time with two different pairs of humpback whales, getting some great close looks before moving on. We then caught up with part of the CA51A killer whale pod, including Jimmy with what appeared to be Andi and Astrid!

A great morning heading north with a small pod of long-beaked common dolphins along the way. Around Moss Landing, we found lots of humpback whales scattered in small groups, with some close passes and a bit of pec slapping. We also spotted a handful of Risso’s dolphins nearby!

Another great trip with a large number of scattered humpback whales! We spotted a few breaches in the distance, along with pec slapping, tail slapping, and several close passes near the boat. Plenty of sea lions and active seabirds throughout the area, too!

Tons of scattered humpbacks. We started with a group of about six, including two pec slapping, before staying with a trio. One gave us a fantastic tail throw, while the other two surfaced very close to the bow for some incredible looks!
