OCTOBER 7TH 2026

Group of orcas swimming at sea with fins visible above water.

Another incredible day of whale watching in Monterey Bay! Our guests enjoyed fantastic sightings of humpback whales, long-beaked common dolphins, and six killer whales (orcas) from two different family groups: the CA51 pod, also known as “Star’s Pod,” and the CA216Cs.

We had amazing views of Star (CA51), the matriarch of the CA51 pod, along with her adult sons Bumper and Orion and her adult daughter Comet. Joining them were CA216C, an adult female, and her calf CA216C2.

Seeing these magnificent orcas alongside humpback whales and playful pods of common dolphins made for an unforgettable Monterey Bay whale watching adventure!
