OCTOBER 8TH 2026

Three orcas swimming close together in the ocean.

Another incredible day of whale watching in Monterey Bay with Princess Monterey Whale Watching! Our morning tour encountered four humpback whales near Moss Landing despite foggy conditions.

Our afternoon Monterey whale watching tour ventured northwest over Monterey Submarine Canyon, where we encountered members of the CA51 killer whale pod, also known as Star’s pod, including two adult male orcas, Orion and Bumper. These magnificent killer whales startled a massive pod of over 300 long-beaked common dolphins, creating an unforgettable wildlife encounter! We also spotted several humpback whales displaying occasional surface behaviors.

From humpback whale sightings to wild orca encounters and hundreds of dolphins, Monterey Bay continues to offer some of the best whale watching opportunities in California!
