Tuesday 8/18/2026

An incredible morning on the bay! We encountered a humpback mom and calf pair, with the calf breaching and pec slapping several times. A few more humpbacks were spread throughout the area, along with 2 blue whales and several hundred common dolphins!

Monday August 17th 2026

sightings included humpback whales not far outside the harbor, giving us some great looks close to home! We also encountered a pod of around 30 short-beaked common dolphins traveling through the bay.

August 15th 2026

We encountered a humpback mother and calf pair southwest of Monterey, with the calf putting on a great show of breaching and pectoral fin slapping!

August 14th 2026

We encountered about six humpback whales foraging near Moss Landing alongside sea lions and huge numbers of seabirds. With plenty of fish visible in the water, we finished the encounter with an impressive vertical lunge feed!

August 13th 2026

Another great day on Monterey Bay with multiple humpback whales, including a large group of about nine actively feeding. We enjoyed great looks, including sporadic tail throws, along with a large sea lion raft and hundreds of seabirds throughout the area.

August 11th 2026

An incredible day on Monterey Bay with four killer whales, identified as CA113, CA113A, CA177, and CA20, also known as “Glacier.” We also encountered humpback whales putting on an impressive lunge-feeding display!

Sunday August 9th 2026

Humpback whales, Risso’s dolphins, and common dolphins were spotted today, with exciting lunge-feeding behavior from the humpbacks.

Saturday August 8th 2026

Cow/calf humpback pair with incredible breaching, pec slapping, and chin slapping, plus 6–7 scattered humpbacks near Moss Landing. Multiple pods totaling 700+ common dolphins, including exciting bow and wake riding.
